STEP travel grants
STEP stands for ‘Supporting Travel for Engaged Partnerships’. STEP travel grants support creative and critical cultural workers travelling across Europe and its neighbours, to help foster a society with greater solidarity, equality and a stronger sense of social justice. The programme is initiated and managed by ECF with the support of Compagnia di San Paolo.

About STEP
STEP is a travel grants programme initiated and managed by ECF with the support of Compagnia di San Paolo. STEP travel grants are designed for cultural practitioners to travel within and between the EU and EFTA (European Free Trade Association) and countries bordering the EU. The STEP funding scheme emerged from previous mobility grant programmes such as STEP Beyond, Erasmus and APEXchanges.
Through this grants scheme, we fund emerging artists and cultural workers of 18 years old or older in 59 countries to explore and to exchange views, skills and inspiration, create long-lasting collaborations and to instigate a positive change in their communities. We support all kinds of cross-border creativity - including music, visual art, theatre, dance, film, documentary, multimedia, design, photography, fashion and cultural capacity building.
